About our farm

Meet Your Farmer: Van Thawng

Originally from Burma, I began farming in July 2023 with a vision of making healthy, chemical-free produce accessible and affordable, both for my family and for my community. In March 2024, I purchased 4.5 acres of farmland in Richmond, Texas, where I now grow a variety of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruits using organic farming practices. I also incorporate vegetables that are staples in Asian households, many of which are native to my homeland, providing comfort and familiarity to those in my community.

My journey has led me to farming—not just as a livelihood, but as a path toward peace, purpose, and giving back to my community. I take great pride in knowing exactly what goes into the food I grow—pure, natural ingredients cultivated with care. It brings me joy to share that quality with my customers. My dream is not only to become a successful organic farmer, but also to teach the next generation how to grow their own food and fall in love with the process of farming.

Our Vision

Our vision is to cultivate community, sustainability, and cultural heritage through agriculture. We aim to provide our community with healthy, locally grown produce while understanding the importance of where our food comes from and fostering a deeper connection to nature.

We wish to inspire others, especially within immigrant communities, to explore farming as a means of empowerment and cultural preservation.

At Green Life Forever Micro Farm, the goal is not only to grow nutritious food but also to cultivate a sense of belonging and purpose, demonstrating how sustainable agriculture can enrich lives and communities alike.

Support Your Local Farm

At Green Life Forever Micro Farm, farming is more than growing crops—it’s about cultivating peace, resilience, and belonging. “A sense of strength and self-confidence is coming from helping each other with love.” -Van Thawng
